A Beautiful Wedding Day
Tom and Stephanie are a great couple who allowed me the privilege of capturing some memories of their wedding day. Unfortunately I left town the next day and have not been able to post any of their pictures. That changed today though! They just arrived back from what looked like a fun honeymoon in the British Isles and I arrived back home early yesterday morning. Here is a small slideshow and a link to the first batch of pictures!
Time to blog!
It’s already been more than a month since I last blogged! Wow! How pathetic is that? It’s been an incredibly busy month for me, and the people around me seem to have stayed just as busy! Hopefully your month has been peaceful. I’ll try to catch up a little bit here on some of the things from the last month.
At Easter, we were once again involved in the Sonrise Pageant at Southern Adventist University. As we were setting up Friday, a large storm blew through and caused some damage around the area. No one was seriously injured in this area, but lots of property damage. Our house managed to catch a tree on the roof. The insurance appraiser is supposed to be out at the end of this week, but so far no leaks or anything. And, I got a chainsaw out of the deal, so a new toy to play with.
On the photography side of things, I’ve had fun taking senior and family portraits. Ben had his pictures taken up at the beautiful Fall Creek Falls State park. The trees weren’t really leafed out yet, but it was still a beautiful day next to the water.
Natalie came down from Virginia for her Senior pictures. She decided to go with Coolidge Park for a location, and we had another beautiful day with blooming flowers and bright blue skies.
Cindy and John are getting married in September, and wanted to start with some family portraits with the youngsters. They also choose to do them at Coolidge Park. What a great location to have here in town! There’s plenty of variety and quite a few places that work well at different times of the day.
To round out the month, Melody came back over to the studio for some more modeling pictures. We played around and experimented with a few different looks and ideas, but my favorite from the shoot were some moody high key images. Here’s one of them.
I think that encompasses most of the photo happenings the last little while. There a new galleries to browse through if you want to see some images. I’m still adding more, but there’s a decent selection up now. I hope you’ve had a great April and as we move into May, we get to start thinking about a fun summer!
My Son’s Birthday
Today Paul turned eight. It hardly seems possible that it wasn’t just a few days ago that we brought him home. They say time flies when you’re having fun. Whoever “they” are, I’d say “they” got it right this time. It seems that every day has a new twist in the fun we can have together. Paul’s new favorite activity lately has been playing Risk. He doesn’t really care whether it’s the board game, or electronic version. Last Saturday evening, he beat the other five people playing. It seemed fitting since we were having a family party for him, but he managed it with very little help. His plans for the future haven’t changed in the past 4-5 years. He’s still planning to be a killer whale trainer. We’ve been taking him to Sea World for several summers now. Usually (and this year is no exception) by Christmas time he’s asking how long it will be until we can go back.
I did take some pictures of him today, but haven’t downloaded them yet. Here’s a shot from this past fall, while we went for a walk around the neighborhood.
